IAIN DOWIE refused to throw in the towel in the chase to catch runaway leaders Sheffield United.
Neil Warnock's side were too strong for Palace as they came away from Selhurst Park with a 3-2 win.
But DOWIE believes his team can make up ground on the Yorkshire club.
He said: "This result leaves us 20 points behind Sheffield United but we must do as much as we can to catch them and that starts as Brighton in our next match.
"We played against a side that are top of the league and were not outplayed. We can take away our attacking play as a major positive.
"I was disappointed with the decision for their third goal because the assistant referee could not have been in a position to make a clear decision on whether the ball crossed the line.
"I'm bitterly disappointed. Our creative play was excellent and we haven't got what our attacking play deserved.
"We gave away three poor goals and you can't do that at this level but I still believe in this group of players and we certainly weren't outplayed."
